Edward Trotta

Executive Director

 

Edward has served the Senior Living industry for 20 years, including over a decade of operations experience as Executive Director for Independent, Assisted Living, and Memory Care communities. Edward earned his college degree on Long Island, New York, is a CORE trained Assisted Living Administrator, certified in Healthcare Management through St. Joseph College of Maine, and is a Certified Dietary Manager as well.

 

As Executive Director, he has opened several large Senior Living communities in Florida and managed them successfully from construction and pre-lease to stabilization. Edward is well versed in service and hospitality having worked at The Breakers of Palm Beach from 1996 through 2000.

Sara Simes

Senior Director of Sales

 

Originally pursuing Dental School, Sara’s heart was captured by her weekend job in Senior Living. While finding her passion for helping seniors, she graduated from Florida Atlantic University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, along with a certificate in hospitality and tourism management.
 
Sara has been working in the Senior Living Industry for the last 10 years. Sara has held many roles in Senior Living, including Divisional Sales Specialist where she traveled the state of Florida (+) for 3 years and dedicated her time traveling to helping seniors in need, building strong sales teams, and mentoring Senior Living sales professionals nationwide.

Beverly Fils-Aime (née Bertrand)

Director of Sales

 

Beverly is a native of Palm Beach County, having graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Following her love of hospitality, she brings over a decade of Senior Living experience to Discovery Village Palm Beach Gardens. Having started in the Food and Beverage side of hospitality, her ambition propelled her in the business. Always seeking higher ground, she has advanced her career into Sales and Marketing. She enjoys nighttime tea, a sappy love story and the occasional tacos and mojitos. She is exited for this next chapter in her career and is elated to be a part of the Discovery Family.

Charlie has more than 20 years of experience as an Executive Chef and Culinary Director. His career spans from country clubs to restaurants and upscale Senior Living communities. He is a Certified Executive Chef and a member of the American Culinary Federation. Charlie has worked for Discovery Senior Living previously for over three years and is excited to be back with Discovery Village Palm Beach Gardens.

A dedicated healthcare professional with over 13 years of experience in Assisted Living, Enid has established herself as a compassionate leader in senior care. Since 2010, she has provided exceptional support to seniors, fostering a nurturing environment that prioritizes their well-being.

Judith Clermont

Director of Health and Wellness

 

Judith started a career in caring for seniors at 16 by participating in an accelerated high school program where she received her CNA license and transitioned into an LPN program to obtain her nursing license (LPN). She then embarked on a two-year journey working in a memory care setting as a staff nurse. She took a pause from Senior Living and worked as a home health nurse, then transitioned into a skilled rehab setting and continued her education to obtain her RN license. During that transition she worked for four years as a wellness nurse for an Assisted Living community. In April 2019, she accepted a role with Discovery Village as their Director of Health and Wellness and it has been the best decision of her career thus far! She is a resident-focused nurse manager, experienced in managing residents’ wellness in Assisted Living and Memory Care programs. She enjoys learning from and teaching her direct care staff to reach their full potential. She is a mother of three, twin girls who are 9 years old and a son who is 10 – her pride and joy. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as attending church.

Jocelyn Alfred

Jocelyn has been with Discovery Village Palm Beach Gardens for six years and could not have found a better or more honorable company for which to work. His background is as follows: Revelation Message Bible College, Jacksonville, FL, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree of Ministry. He worked as housekeeping director at Hilton Gardens in Boca Raton for seven years, before transitioning to Discovery Village Palm Beach Gardens as Housekeeping Director. Housekeeping is truly his passion and he has always brought abundant energy, creativity, dedication, experience, and personal knowledge to his work. You can be assured that he and his team will provide uncompromising care and service to help keep the building clean and fresh to enrich and the lifestyle of our residents. He feels it is a pleasure and joy to strive toward this objective every day.

Marianela Diaz

Business Office Director

 

Marianela has more than eight years of experience in Assisted Living, specializing in billing, finances, and collections. Her role, which she is very passionate about, includes managing resident accounts as well as employee-related matters. Outside of work, you can find Marianela spending time with her family or relaxing listening to a good podcast, while working on her crochet or sewing projects.
